After landing in Edinburgh , Callander was our first port of call . Abbotsford Lodge exceeded all our expectations .We were greeted by the Host who was very friendly snd helpful.The rooms were prestine tastefully decorated and immaculate .The breakfast choice was amazing and plentiful.Would definitely recommend it if looking to stay in Callander !

It was a pleasure to stay overnight at this gorgeous Victorian property. Very comfortable and spacious bedroom and a most delicious breakfast!

Four of us stayed for one night last week, all in differently priced rooms. Very were all very happy with our lovely, clean, very comfortable rooms. The breakfast was fantastic and we only wished we were staying longer. Prior to staying I asked for dinner recommendations and very much appreciated the helpful response of 3 options to choose from. Really lovely guesthouse, hope to return.

Finding the hotel was easy and the check in was quick and efficient. Our room was lovely with a view out over trees and shrubbery in the garden. The lounge area was quiet and also comfortable. Evening meals were not available but we were advised where to find a range of places to eat within walking distance. Breakfast in the morning was very tasty and freshly cooked so that everything was still hot. Cereal and other options were also available.

Very quick checking in and out, very clean, fantastic breakfast and friendly staff.

We stayed here for one night for a wedding that was at a venue close by.The staff made a special effort to have our room ready so that we could check in before the wedding. The room was very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast.

Abbotsford Lodge is an excellent location for the Trossachs and surrounding areas. The rooms were clean tidy and spacious. The breakfasts were excellent and the staff welcoming and very helpful. Plenty of parking space. Thoroughly recommended, we would certainly stay there again.

We stayed in a Standard double, which was spotlessly clean and had a good sized bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the TV was easy to use. Breakfast is 8am-9am and is tables service due to Covid. There is a good choice of food and generous portion sizes. We had a pleasant stay which allowed us a nice wee break in the area. Thanks to the staff for all their efforts to keep things operating smoothly under the pandemic disruption.

The hotel is very nice, newly refurbished, it would seem.Deserves its 4 stars.I haven’t chosen the breakfast option but I regret it as it looked good.Friendly staff and nice room and bed/bedding.Would recommend warmly.

We have stayed at Abbotsford lodge for three years now always as good as ever. The pandemic removed the fabulous breakfast lay out but it was replaced by an excellent menu.

I stayed here with my sister for 2 nights as a base to do long walks in the surrounding areas. The hosts were most welcoming and very pleasant, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were lovely so much choice for a breakfast menu. The pancakes looked to die for on the next table, if I had stayed another night would have sampled them! There was a lovely lounge for chilling and ample parking. Would definitely stay again when in the area, highly recommended.

We had a lovely stay at this fantastic lodge all the staff make you feel welcome as soon as you get there. The room was lovely with everything you need . Breakfast is everything you could ask for and more. This lodge is a short walk into town and the views are amazing.

We arrived at Abbotsfordlodge after a long drive and was met by a very helpful member of staff who explained everything about the lodge, it’s covid restrictions and then gave me our disinfected key for the room.The room was quite small but very comfortable and the bathroom en-suite was clean and new.The decor in the lodge was very nicely done, the only down side was we had someone in the room next door with children and we could hear dad and daughter chatting.The room was quite stuffy and needed a window open and guests arriving back woke us up in the early hours and we couldn’t get back to sleep after that as we could hear people moving around the corridors and banging doors. That being said, the breakfast choices and service was incredible and the quality of the food was first class.

Great host ,very clean,comfortable and lovely accommodation, the breakfast is a fantastic experience I have never had such a choice of exceptional food before it was amazing .My only gripe is that the adjoining room wall had very little sound proofing and our neighbours snoring kept us both awake on our second night … other than that a very nice place to stay

We booked last minute for one overnight. So glad we did, the Abbotsford Lodge is a wonderful place to stay. Friendly welcome, great rooms with fantastic bathrooms (the shower is amazing!) and complimentary toiletries. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff at breakfast were so attentive. We stayed at the Abbotsford for 2 nights, we found the accommodation was spotlessly clean and very well appointed. Town is just a 5 minute stroll, with ample to keep you happy within Callander. We found Callander a perfect base to explore the local area.The Abbotsford breakfast is legendary, so much choice and all perfect from home made pancakes to full breakfast and not forgetting the home made Banana bread. The hosts and there staff are brilliant and would return in a heartbeat.

My wife, myself and our 6 month old stopped here for just one night. Andrea and the staff we're friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Our room was immaculate and comfortable.We will certainly look to return next time we are looking to stay in the area. I would highly recommend.

Excellent surroundings and the hotel itself has a really lovely interior.The set up for covid restrictions was very good and this was particularly old at breakfast when the service and quality of food was excellent.We will definitely visit again.

We only booked a one night stay. The hotel was great a short walk into town and well placed for touring the local area. Our family room was lovely and was actually two adjoining rooms with private bath and shower. All was freshly decorated and very modern. The breakfast in the morning was super with excellent choices and was great value.

What an absolutely fantastic experience! We had such a wonderful time at this beautiful B&B. The lovely owners of the B&B were incredibly accommodating given we were arriving later than expected. They greeted us at the door and showed us straight to our beautiful room. They are very good about COVID safety, making sure all of their guests feel safe and comfortable. Breakfast was really delightful with many different options and they even offered us delicious banana bread and flapjack snacks for the hike we were doing later that day! The entire place is beautifully furnished - we feel so lucky that we found this place and managed to get a room! Would definitely recommend to anyone and will be returning whenever we’re back in Scotland!

Breakfast was superb, perfectly cooked using quality products and the choices on the menu are second to none.Also the BEST vegetarian/vegan menu we've ever witnessed (my wife is a veggie)

we really enjoyed our stay,our room was lovely, the only thing was that there was only 2 files of coffee, so we could'nthave a coffee on arrival, otherwise there would be no morning coffee for us, a small thing but it would have made a difference, so please put a couple more files in the room. not every one drinks tea !

Abbotsford Lodge had changed hands since we last stayed here. It remains excellent having changed very little since the previous owners were here. Rooms are very well and very comfortably furnished and a good nights sleep is assured.Car parking space is plentiful and this is a big plus. The Scottish breakfast is one of the best around!

We stayed here for the last night of our honeymoon. It couldn't have been more perfect. Like a boutique hotel. Luxury!

We stayed on the ground floor double room for two nights and the room was beautiful, very clean and comfortable. Bathroom was gorgeous too with a separate bath and shower. Breakfast was great with plenty of choices available and the staff were all really friendly and helpful. The only thing that would make me give a 5 star review was if the TV's in the room had Netflix or smart features.

We had an excellent stay and were made very welcome by the hosts. Excellent choice of breakfast options. We had a really good meal at the Venachar Lochside restaurant, which is in a beautiful setting just 10 minutes drive or so away. The Lade Inn, also just out of town, was very good too for pub food, ale and a nice garden.

The accomodation met all our expectations, very nice. Andrea, the proprietor was a joy to meet and could not have been more helpful in recommending places to eat at in the evening and in the morning providing us with a very early breakfast as we had to dash off to catch a ferry.Its also worth a mention of how pleasant we found all the people we met in the town as well that day.

This stay has to be at the top of my list so far. The whole building has been refurbished to a very high standard. Andrea, the owner and all the staff were extremely pleasant and attentive. The rooms were bright and spotless. The food, well I had the Scottish breakfast each morning and it was delicious. Myself and my friends will definitely stay there again in the future.

We stayed in one of the larger rooms at the front of the guest house and it looked as if it was recently renovated with a fireplace and seating area, bed was comfortable. The manageress was lovely and very helpful recommending places to eat, everything was within a 5 min walk. We might have took the breakfast if the time was later than 8 til 9am

Spent two nights at Abbotsford Lodge. The room was excellent, clean,comfortable and felt very safe during these unusual times with covid virus. Perfect base for some walking and water sports. The family room with en suite bathroom was perfect for 3 adults. The staff were lovely and gave us a great recommendation for dinner in Callander. We stayed for 3 nights and from the friendly reception on arrival to when we left we couldn't have been happier.Our room (no.5) was huge and beautifully decorated. The king bed was SO comfy and everywhere (especially the bathroom) was exceptionally clean.There was an incredible choice for breakfast and all good quality and well presented.We were on a bikes (there's lockable storage) and boots trip but if that's not your thing have a look at Stirling and Doune Castles.By far the nicest BnB we've stayed in.

Abbotsford Lodge could not be faulted, everything was top class. Management for Covid was excellent. We felt very safe and the complimentary hand sanitisers were a great touch, as were the Tunnock wafers ????.We got a very friendly welcome with help to get the best parking on site for our trailer. The room and en-suite were beautifully decorated and so clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, high quality food, plenty and very well presented. This would easily class as a boutique hotel but with very affordable rates. Excellent value for money. We definitely recommend and will be back.

Andrea and her partner could not have been more attentive and helpful and the chef was cheerful and pleasant as well.Nothing was too much trouble, the quality of the accommodation was superb, we travelled to help recover from the recent death of my younger brother and the way we were looked after was impeccable.We will certainly be returning and would have no hesitation in highly recommending this establishment.Disliked · Having to leave

From arrival the service was great, let us use the lounge to eat our dinner in, great room with superb finishing! Tv was a good size and responsive, lots of parking and very quiet for a good nights sleep. Also the bed was unreal, so comfortable! Climbed Ben Vorlich in the morning and didn’t make it back for check out, a quick late fee which was understandable as we were late but extremely polite and delivered with a smile on their faces!

We’ve stayed at Abbotsford lodge a few times before but now under new ownership. The rooms have all been upgraded and we were delighted with our superior room (Rm5) . Loads of space , seating area, comfy bed, large shower with lovely toiletries and we had a mini fridge in the room which was usual during lockdown restrictions with the pubs and restaurants being shut .Breakfast was simply amazing / great selection and eat all you want. The homemade fruit scones for breakfast were delicious . Andrea and her team were friendly and helpful . I’d definitely recommend and we will be back.

Highly recommend Abbotsford Lodge to everyone. A very warm and friendly welcome will greet you and you will notice how clean and tidy the environment is.The breakfasts are table service due to Covid, and are exceptional, as is the service.I had pillow ‘issues’ whilst there as I found the pillows too hard, and after swapping with no improvements, the lovely lady’s partner went out and bought a couple of new pillows! How’s that for care and customer service!The guest house itself is positioned well with a short walk into the centre and also for the Bracklinn Falls walk.Local Tesco’s and CoOp too, with some nice cafes and pubs.Everywhere was following Covid guidelines whilst we were there.Great place to stay and would happily stay there again.

The hosts are superb. Our room was quite small but had everything you needed and more. The breakfast menu was extensive with quality food in abundance. Will definitely return and fully recommend.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Abbotsford Lodge for 4 nights. We could not fault the cleanliness of this guest house - spotlessly clean and very good sanitizing stations setup due to covid. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and are very friendly and made us feel at home. Our room was lovely but a little too small for the 2 of us for 4 nights with lots of luggage as had no wardrobe and little storage space. This was no fault of the guest house as there were lots of lovely large rooms - would look at getting an alternative room for our next stay. The breakfasts are incredible and fantastic value for money. £7.50 per head for all you can eat - you must try the buttermilk pancakes. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to those looking to explore the surrounding area.

We stayed at the Abbotsford Lodge last weekend for the 4th year in a row. It has changed hands since our last stay and we were pleased to see the high standards we enjoyed previously have been continued with the new owners. We were made too feel very welcome as well as feeling relaxed and comfortable under the current restrictions. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and some have been redone since our last stay and done well. We would absolutely recommend a stay here so much so that we have booked for next year already.

From when we arrived till leaving, our 2 night stay was perfect. Andrea is a great asset to the place and all the staff. Breakfast was outstanding with excellent service throughout. During these strange times they do very well. Hope to return soon.

I travelled here for September weekend with my 2 children. The lodge is spotless and all Covid regulations are abided too. Rooms are lovely, comfy and clean. The location is great and within walking distance to the Main Street and local woodland walks.The staff were at hand for whatever you needed. Great stay would definitely recommend to anyone.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Abbotsford Lodge and had a lovely time. Our room was lovely with a very comfortable bed and a huge bathroom. Breakfast was absolutely amazing, especially the pancakes and banana bread! All the staff were so friendly and were really helpful with recommendations for evening meals and things to do. We would definitely visit again!

Andrea the host was fantastic. Breakfast superb and catered for gluten free needs without any problems.Rooms were spacious and clean. Had the feeling of a bigger boutique hotel than a B&B / Guest-House. I’d definitely recommend staying here and will be sure to be back.

It's been our first night in Scotland and just a step to travel further on. We felt really wellcome in a beautiful house. Breakfast was amazing good!

We had a lovely two night stay. Everyone was so helpful and polite. The room was lovely and clean. Bed was very comfortable.Breakfast was excellent, so much choice and so tasty. Accommodation was just 5 minutes walk to being in town centre which was perfect.

We booked the hotel as a stop over after travelling from the Scottish island and what a great choice we made.The lodge is huge with ample parking and our room was large with a very well presented on suite bathroom,all things had been thought about and we were not disappointed with the rooms catering.Breakfast was very good with a huge selection to cover everybody's morning desires,the staff were very friendly and attentive and I would not hesitate in booking the lodge for a stay again.

Abbotsford lodge is a great place to stay, our room was impeccably cleaned and the breakfast was exceptionally yummy. Andrea was very accommodating to our needs for a late check in and waited up for us to arrive, really friendly and makes your stay a breeze. Myself and my daughter loved staying here and would highly recommend it.

This place was fantastic right from the start. The owner was so friendly and welcoming and very informative. I had previously emailed about my friends birthday whilst staying to see if there was anything on offer to pay for, Andrea offered cake and wine for the room at no additional cost which was so lovely and personal touch. The room was spotless and spacious, TV well situated for the beds and the shower was brilliant, just what was needed after a long day of exploring. The location was central and close to cafes, shops and resteraunts. Bracklinn Falls was very close by and easy to walk to. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Callander. Breakfast was fantastic also, buffet wasnt available because of Covid 19 however there was a full menu of things to order and the choices were amazing. Can't thank this place enough for our stay it really made out time away.

We had two very comfortable nights in the beautiful house with really lovely attentive staff. I booked room 5 and it was the lovely with great supper king bed we had breakfast and must agree with all the other reviews it was very good ( complements to the cook ????????? for her perfect ???? eggs ????)Sadly we were not so lucky with the weather but we will return!! Our second visit and very different because of the current health crisis although the one thing that hasn't altered in the excellent service offered by the new owners. We had another very comfortable and enjoyable visit and can't wait to return.

We managed to get a last minute booking at Abbotsford lodge, deciding to take a break from sleeping in the van on our Scottish road trip. It was very clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and accommodating. We didn’t try the breakfast, deciding inside to check out the offerings of Callander which is a short Walk away.

My husband and I stayed in the Abbotsford Lodge for two nights and enjoyed our stay tremendously. The room was large,very clean, comfortable and tastefully equipped.The staff was wonderful, very attentive and thoughtful. They made our stay even better!The next time we are in Callendar, we will be staying there again, no question.

Abbotsford Lodge was a pleasant surprise and a perfect base for our journey in Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.The room was perfectly clean and cozy, and, tough the bathroom was separate, we were the only users and it is modern and beautiful, with a very good shower.Breakfasts are absolutely great, with choice and abundance.Andrea is a very disposable host, kind and present, whenever needed.Definitely a very good stay for a honest price.

Brilliantly located in the small town of Callander. Lots of pubs, restaurants and places to go within a 10 minute walk. Room was very clean, staff professional, and the entire hotel COVID secure with clean amenial areas, hand sanitiser stations and masks worn by staff. Will definitely stay again if in the area.

We stayed at the Lodge for 3 nights and couldn't fault it. The bathrooms were modern and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast is amazing with the freshly made pancakes definitely being a highlight as well as the full cooked and fresh fruit. Our travels were during the Covid restrictions so unfortunately this couldn't be the usual buffet that is normally operated. Instead you are now served directly at your table and not made to feel guilty for over indulging. Overall it's a great experience for the price you pay. We would highly recommend!

We had the most wonderful stay at Abbotsford Lodge. This was our last night in Scotland and we wished we had spent more nights here - by far the loveliest accomodation we stayed in during our week road tripping around. Our room and bathroom was super spacious and the bed very comfortable! Huge variety on the breakfast menu also. Highly recommend!

Had a most enjoyable overnight visit to the wonderful Abbotsford Lodge on Saturday 22 August 2020.The Lodge is under new management and the new owners made us feel more than welcome.The room, which I've stayed in before, was spotless and has to be one of the most beautiful rooms I have stayed in within any hotel.The safety measures put in place in terms of Covid were outstanding and my entire party felt completely safe and relaxed. The breakfast, although not the usual buffet style due to current circumstances, lost none of its appeal and was outstanding. The choice of food available was unbelievable and I only wished I had booked a 2 night stay to sample some more of the dishes on offer.Can't wait to return again.Thanks to all for the wonderful stay.

Looking for an overnight stay in Callander the Abbotsford Lodge was perfect . Room was a good size , modern decor and the breakfast was made with quality ingredients.

I am a keyworker and just needed a weekend away from all the madness to recharge my batteries. Abbotsford Lodge was ideal for this, walking distance to Callander and even with all the precautions in place it still felt friendly and comfortable while staying safe. Staff were amazing and breakfast was brilliant and didn't hear a thing in the room. Only downside is I did not have longer to stay, one night was not enough. Thank you so much.

I would highly recommend staying at Abbotsford Lodge - we booked a double room for 1 night. We arrived a little early and were able to check in early which was great and were able to get a late check out. The whole place is spotless and there have clearly been precautions put in place to ensure the property, staff and guests are safe from covid-19.Our room was ideal - well presented, clean, tidy and the bathroom was the same. The breakfast was the nicest breakfast I have had in a long time. There are so many choices and you can have as much as you would like. Everything was delicious, amazing quality and fresh. It was also served in a lovely big, clean, beautifully decorated dining room.The staff were all friendly and happy to help with anything and nothing is too much trouble.I will definitely stay here again and couldn't fault a thing! Excellent value for money, thanks again!

The staff at the hotel were really welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure you were conformable. The breakfast selection was fabulous and the food was delicious. Only a 10 minute walk from Callander and 25 minute drive from Stirling. We would stay there again, this is by far the beast hotel we stayed in on our trip around the Highlands.

We were impressed by the general décor and cleanliness of this hotel. It had been very recently decorated and was well organised to cope with Covid regulations. We were passing through Callender and needed a place to stay for the night with a parking area. Here seemed ideal and it was ideal. We got a room which was very nice andthe breakfast was great. Plus,which isfor me a big plus the people who I think ran Abbotsford Lodge were very accommodating. I'll definitely pay a visit again I'm up that way.

This is a lovely little hotel.Our stay felt very safe during these Covid times. The room was very clean and bright with a really lovely bathroom.Staff were welcoming and friendly. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in for a long time. From the moment we arrived we were made feel so welcome and all the staff on our stay were so polite and kind to us. The room we had was first class, everything we wanted and the food was amazing. Considering hotels are just opening up after this lockdown the owner has went all out to make sure everything was perfect and it was. I just wish we had booked another night but will defo book again. Situated walking distance to the centre made it perfect for us to. Will be back and hopefully soon.
